In this course, the legislation and regulations relating to COSHH are covered, including the symbols used to warn of the presence of hazardous substances. The course also covers how harmful substances can enter the body and the actions that can be taken to mitigate the risks. This includes the hierarchy of control measures and conducting risk assessments.

  • This course is an extension of the Fire Safety course. It covers the basics of the Fire Safety course and then focuses on the key duties and responsibilities of the Fire Warden (sometimes known as a Fire Marshal). It explores the need for a fire risk assessment and identifying special risk persons who must be considered. The course looks at fire policies and procedures and introduces the fire safety checklist that should be completed for all premises.

  • Food safety is about working in a safe and hygienic way to ensure that the food handled, prepared or served is fit to be eaten and will not cause illness. Safe food is food that is not contaminated physically, chemically, microbiologically or with allergens. This course explores those four types of contamination in detail, exploring the causes and contamination and the measures taken to mitigate the risks. It then explains how food safety is enforced and the food handlers legal responsibilities to comply with the many pieces of legislation and regulation. The course uses videos, interactive exercises and knowledge checks throughout to bring the topic to life.

This awareness course is designed to help identify and reduce the risks of working at height. It explores collective and personal protection, highlighting how they work and how they must be prioritised. There is a dedicated section covering working at height equipment such as ladders, scaffolds and foot stools. The course also includes a section specifically designed for people working on a roof.
