The Equality Act was introduced in 2010 to establish a legal baseline to protect people from discrimination in the workplace as well as in wider society. It sets out the ways in which it is
unlawful to treat people in the workplace and other settings.

This course will examine what both equality and diversity mean in the modern context. You will learn about how equality and diversity can be implemented in the workplace, who has responsibility and for what, as well as the specific characteristics protected by relevant legislation.
